Another Lubrication Investigation at Malaysian Iron and Steel Plant

Together with a lubrication veteran consultant, Tecsia Lubricants sent a team to conduct another round of site investigation at Malaysia’s largest iron and steel integrated plant.
The visit focused on lubrication issues faced in the steel section. Areas covered were critical applications such as the continuous casting machine, cooling bed and overhead crane. One of the growing problems included bearing failure due to the harsh operating environment and insufficient protection from the current lubricant.
Another major headache was dealing with hardening grease in their grease pumps. The reach of grease to several applications get affected, therefore, protection or efficiency are not maximised.
Plans were discussed to tap on Tecsia’s expertise for steel-making operations. After the survey, Tecsia Lubricants is confident of a troubleshoot success. The team will continue to provide support on all technical issues.
